This Friday, November 6, the director of the local NGO Foro Penal, Alfredo Romero, declared that 50 political prisoners in Venezuela have serious health issues amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a press conference, Romero said that they request the Red Cross for help to attend the cases, but they have no answer so far.
The lawyer also informed that despite the pardons granted by Maduro’s regime, the figures of political prisoners in Venezuela reached 370.

Also, the last September 29, the NGO Justicia Venezolana (Venezuelan Justice) warned that 35 military officials in jail as political prisoners have serious diseases that put their lives at risks like hypertension, diabetes, and even cancer. The lawyer and director of this NGO, Neyda Pérez, said that the officials do not receive the proper medical care from the state institution in charge.
