In a letter to President Donald Trump, the US congressman Mario Díaz-Balart stressed his support to the foreign policy that promotes democracy, prosperity, and respect for the fundamental rights across the hemisphere.
Díaz-Balart, a Republican politician, is representative of the Florida 25th congressional district, one of the states with the most Hispanic population.
The congressman regrets that people of Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua, “remain under the thumb of dangerous despots who oppress their people and threaten US national security and interest.”
With the signature of another 17 members of Congress, Díaz-Balart encourages the Trump administration to continue its policy to deny US dollars to regimes that repress their people and “engage in coordinated, dangerous activities beyond their borders.”
